Personal
- I was born in 1978.
- I grew up in Lubbock, Texas and I currently reside in Houston, Texas.
- In 1994, I became an Eagle Scout. Troop 543 represent.
- In May 2004, my lovely wife Elizabeth and I were married in Las Vegas, Nevada (I can’t recommend a Vegas wedding highly enough. Totally cool.) Liz is the coolest person in the world.
School
- I attended Lubbock High School, graduating in 1997.
- I attended Texas Tech University, completing a BS in Industrial Engineering in May 2002.
- In May 2004, I completed an MS in Industrial Engineering at Texas Tech, concentrating in Operations Research.
- In the summer of 2008, I started an online MBA program through the School of Management at the University of Texas at Dallas.
Professional
- Since August 2004, I have worked for Hewlett-Packard’s customer support organization in Houston, Texas.
- As a graduate student, I was a research assistant and a teaching assistant in the IE department. I worked on a research project related to inventory management of Pyxis machines at University Medical Center. This work was the basis for a presentation given at INFORMS 2007 in Seattle.
- As an undergrad, I participated in a cooperative education program during the summer and fall of 2000, working as a Materials Management Coop at Ethicon, Inc. in San Angelo, Texas.
- Throughout my undergraduate and graduate careers at Texas Tech, I worked at Hastings.
Interests
- Professional: product lifecycle planning, reverse supply chain management, call center operations optimization, inventory management, healthcare applications of operations research and industrial engineering, activity scheduling, discrete event simulation
- Personal: movies, music, books, running (though I’m not exactly what you’d call fast), (extremely) amateur photography
